Have you been to paradise? If not, drag yourself into this beautiful paradise in Krabi, Thailand.
Koh Phi Phi which is part of Krabi Province is a sought after destination for many tourists. It has a lot to offer, from it's pristine water, beautiful scenery and mouth watering food.
Phi Phi islands are composed of six beautiful islands located namely,
Koh Phi Phi Leh, Koh Phi Phi Don, Bida Nok, Bida Noi, Mosquito and Bamboo island.
Getting to Koh Phi Phi:
We booked our tickets from our Hotel in Phuket. They made arrangement for our Ferry tickets and a van will pick you up an hour before your scheduled departure. It takes an hour and 1/2 to get to Koh Phi Phi Island.
Heavy luggage and extreme heat |
Upon Arrival
You will be greeted with a lot of Long tail boats and tourists from different race. Each tourist are required to pay 20 BAHT for environmental fee.
I was surprised to confirm that there is really NO MODE OF TRANSPORTATION other than Long tail boats and walking.
Good thing I already made arrangement with out Hotel to pick us up in the port area. He carried our luggage, well he was using a push cart. From there, we walked for about 15-20 minutes I think.
We stayed for a week in Koh Phi Phi but decided to only book for 1 night in our chosen hotel just so we can transfer to another island since I was really confused with the description I read online. So for you not to go through the same headache, I will share with you what I learned from this beautiful Island.
WHERE TO STAY
- If you want some good night life, I recommend Long beach Island where we spent one night partying. We stayed at Beach Club which is more of like a container rooms.
- We explore the island during day time and decided to transfer to Koh Phi Phi Don which I find so relaxing and closer to nature. I also Love the fact that it has a lot of restaurants and mini marts too. They also have night life but it isn't as loud as the ones they have in Long Beach which I wanted for relaxation. We stayed at Phi Phi Villa which is for me one of the best hotel in Phi Phi Island.
FOOD
Aside from Authentic Thai dishes, restaurants in Ko Phi Phi Island serves American and Western Cuisines. It is a bit expensive compared to other parts of Thailand but there are also food stalls where you can get a cheaper food. We dined in mostly in Carper Diem which is just outside Phi Phi Villa.
Overall
The water, hotel, food. I would choose to stay in Koh Phi Phi Don over and over again! I truly fell in love with this place and the ambiance is just so perfect for a total relaxation and just beach bumming.
I will post more of this beautiful trip!
