Bantay
Abot cave is located near Blue Lagoon. It's not actually a cave but a
tunnel-like space with fascinating view of the hills and water but they
call it a cave so i won't argue with that. From an Ilocano word Bantay
means mountain and Abot means Hole. Our driver told us that we can't go
there if it's high tide but i insisted and that was a big mistake.
In order for you to reach Bantay Abot cave, you have to get down from the highway and trek through the rocks. It was a bloodcurdling experience!

Since it was a bit high tide, the rocks were slippery so i had to remove my slippers and trek around the rocks. I was really scared and almost give up when a huge wave almost swept me. Good thing our driver was able to hold me or else I'll ended up floating towards the South China Sea.
You literally have to cross the huge rock because the entry point is on the other side. The slippery rocks and huge waves of the sea made me cried but it didn't stop me from reaching the cave.
It's was a taste of adventure but it was worth it. The Picturesque surroundings while on top of the huge rock was perfect. I'm sorry I failed to produce good pictures because it was late in the afternoon when we went there.
You can go up for a perfect spot, once again you gotta be careful.
We were all absolutely enthralled with the scenery. If you're a nature lover, you will surely love this place. I won't recommend it to those elderly because the strong waves plus the strong wind might take you away. If you insist, then visit the place when it's low tide. Our driver served as our tour guide because they don't have proper tour guide in the area. If you're heading to Blue Lagoon then there's no reason for you not to drop by . Hope you can share your experience too!
